Questions to ask when choosing a Moving Company

When interviewing moving companies ask the following questions:

  • Are they licensed by the State of Nebraska or Iowa to provide moving services?

  • Do they move or charge extras for large items such as pianos, big screen TV’s, safes, etc?

  • How long they have been in business in the Omaha area?

  • Are they are insured and bonded?

  • What type of training do their employees go through before assisting in your move?

  • Ask what the company’s cancellation policy is?

  • Does the company have full time employees or temps and day labor?

  • How long have most employees worked for the company?

  • Ask if they are members of the BBB and what their rating is with the BBB?

  • What is the company’s damage record?

  • Do they require a deposit for the move?

  • Do they charge extras for weekend moves?

  • Are they a “true” locally owned and operated company or a franchise?
